Originally established in 1993 by the National Association of Graduate-Professional Students, Graduate Student Appreciation Week (GSAW) is a time dedicated to supporting and recognizing the invaluable contributions of graduate and professional students across the nation. In 2010, the Governor of Florida officially recognized GSAW by signing a proclamation designating the first week of April each year for this purpose.
At UF, we're proud to participate in this celebration, highlighting the significant impact and value that graduate and professional students bring to our campus and communities. During GSAW, the University of Florida Graduate School and campus partners host a variety of events to celebrate our diverse community of graduate students. Explore GSAW events below!

and Human Nutrition department!
The T-shirt design brings this theme to life with Century Tower as its anchor, symbolizing tradition and scholarly impact.
Two Grad Gators stand at the center, one passing a torch to the other, representing mentorship, knowledge transfer, and the enduring legacy built by generations of graduate students.
A banner bearing the theme flows through the design, with the year thoughtfully integrated into the tower.
Graduate students are invited to pick-up a t-shirt during select GSAW events while supplies last.
