The Thesis, Dissertation, and Publication team at the University of Florida Graduate School (134 Grinter Hall) handles document management, review, and archiving on a number of fronts vital to graduate education at UF.

THESES & DISSERTATIONS

Our team coaches you through your crowning achievement as a graduate student — submission and approval of your thesis or dissertation for graduation with your graduate degree.

While we do not review or critique content, scholarship, research methods, or writing style (your supervisory committee does that), we do make sure all theses and dissertations meet UF’s format standards and are ready for electronic submission, publishing, and digital archiving in the UF Libraries system.

We also provide workshops, format guides, graduation checklists, and tutorials to ease your way through the process.

COMMENCEMENT PROGRAM

Our Thesis, Dissertation, and Publication team works with the UF President’s Office and Office of the University Registrar to edit each semester’s doctoral commencement program.

WORKSHOPS

Our Thesis, Dissertation, and Publication team works with the Graduate Student Success Center to host formatting and submission workshops.

WRITING PROGRAM

The Writing Program is hosted by our Thesis, Dissertation, and Publication team. It is a free, non-credit professional development activity, which aims to provide community and social support for graduate students during the writing stage of their programs. The program uses small, focused discussion groups of 6-8 students over the course of a term to build, establish, and reinforce writing habits with peers pursuing similar goals.

Participants must be actively engaged in a writing project (thesis, dissertation, manuscript, qualifying exams, research papers, literature reviews, etc.) to join the program.

The Writing Program will be held on Zoom. The 2-hour weekly sessions will include brief presentations from guest speakers, as well as time for small group discussions. The majority of the time will be allotted for writing with peer accountability.
